Lake Maroon Camping Ground Location Information
Maroon Dam Holiday Park
Print this page so that you have a handy map you can refer to when you are on your way here. (Due to the mountainous terrain a GPS is usually useless in the Lake Maroon area, and phone reception will drop soon after you leave Boonah, so a map is particularly handy).
Lake Maroon Holiday Park is close to Brisbane & the Gold Coast in beautiful Boonah Shire, South East Queensland.
If you are coming via Boonah, please note that Burnett Creek Rd is the next right turn AFTER the road into the dam wall and boat ramp. Coming via Boonah is the recommended route. The Rathdowney route involves passing through areas where the bush is close to the road and where the chances of hitting a Roo are high.
Address: 535 Burnett Creek Road, Maroon QLD 4310.
Phone: (07) 5463 6256
GPS location: 28.2022 Degrees South / 152.6490 Degrees East – but don’t rely on your GPS

The Scenic Rim is home to six National Parks. In December 1994 parts of the Main Range, Lamington, Springbrook and Mt Barney National Parks were included in the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves Australian World Heritage Listed Area.
The Scenic Rim Mountains and the Mt Warning area in northern NSW are known as the Green Cauldron and were once a volcanic hotspot, which over the years has grown into a lush landscape featuring six World Heritage listed National Park.
Our camping areas are nestled at the base of the Scenic Rim foot-hills, and are adjacent to Lake Maroon. Park facilities include an amenities block with hot showers and a camp kitchen with sinks and dish washing facilities. Our camping sites are much larger than normal city camping sites. This enables family groups and groups of friends to be able to easily camp alongside each other and to position tents and campervans in a manner that pleases them best.
