When making a booking:

Let us have an indication of the numbers you expect to have joining you. We can allocate you a site to suit the size of your party.

Excellent mobile phone coverage for Telstra subscribers.

If you are making a booking and you wish to be located near a friend or family who are also making a booking, please say so in the ‘special requests’ field as you make the booking.  This helps us to plan accordingly.

Check-in must be prior to 8:00 pm unless specific arrangements are made beforehand.

Our Vista View camping area, our Hidden Ridge camping area, and our Bush Camping areas are charged at the rate of $15.00 per person per night.
Our Billabong and our Maroon Cove camp sites are charged at the rate of $15.00 per adult per night and $7.00 per child (12 years and under) per night.  (Powered camp sites are $8.00 extra per night).

Our holiday park is made up of five top quality camping areas:-
*    Our Billabong camping area
*    Our Hidden Ridge camping area
*    Our Maroon Cove camping area
*    Our Vista View camping area
*    Our Mountain Bush Camping areas.

(Camper trailers and caravans must bring their own water.  On-site water is not available).

This camping area is very close to the water, across the road from the shoreline, and has prime water views.   All camp sites are very large, and all camp-sites have a campfire place.  Our "Maroon Cove" camping area is just a short walk from our Billabong camping area.

Dogs are permitted in this area: small to medium size only.  Large dogs and dogs such as Rottweiler or Doberman are not permitted.  Guests arriving with dogs such as these will be refused entry, and deposit monies paid for reserving a camp site will not be refunded.  (We recommend the Imparra Pet Motel, 451 Ipswich Boonah Rd, Purga QLD 4306, Australia.  Ph: 07 5464 6758.)

Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, and their droppings picked up.  No more than two dogs per site or per group are permitted.  A bond may be required.

Powered sites are not available in the Maroon Cove and Vista View areas, but generators may be used (provided they are of the modern silent running variety).

Our Billabong Camping area is nestled in a protected park-like setting, with large restful and shady campsites.  It is located 300 metres from our private lakeside area.

Only sites No. 1 & 2 in this area have water views.  Other camp sites in this area have beautiful bush views.

Dogs are not permitted in this area.

All sites have a campfire place.

Powered sites are available here.

The Scenic Rim's premier camping spot

If you are wanting a powered camp site and none appear to be available, just book for the Billabong area and request a powered site in the “Special Requests” field as you make your booking.  We will then allocate you a site where you can run a power lead to your camp site.

Advance bookings are advisable: we try to give our camping guests large camp sites and plenty of space, for every long weekend and holiday period we usually turn away many people.  This is because we seek to avoid overcrowding our camp sites.

Our camp-sites are much larger than city camp sites.  Each site can easily accommodate two to three families.  So when you book, just book one site for the minimum (which is two people).  Because you have already booked a site, your friends and family who may be joining you will not need to book.  They can pay upon arrival when they check in.  When you book, if your anticipated guest numbers are large, then please type into the notes field as you make your on-line booking how many you expect to have joining you, and we will get back to you and confirm that your plans are OK, or if you will need to book a second site.

Our personal commitment to our guests is that we will strive to ensure our guests receive a high quality and personal service, that our guests feel they have achieved the best deal possible and value for money spent, and that our guests have enjoyed the experience and want to come back and visit us again.

Rates for non-guests seeking to use our lakeside beach area are $7.00 per head.   This entitles members of the public to set up a day tent on the beach, to launch their boat, swim, etc, and to generally enjoy the lake environment.  In addition, the day rate fee entitles non-guests to use our toilets, showers and the other facilities of the Holiday Park such as ice purchase, drink, etc.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: We have a strictly "NO REFUND" policy for cancellations for bookings which have been made for the Christmas period, the Easter period, and public holiday weekends. Outside of Christmas, Easter, and public holidays, where a Holiday House or campsite booking is to be cancelled, a credit may be given depending upon the circumstances. Monies paid for bookings are not refundable.

The Scenic Rim is home to six National Parks.  In December 1994 parts of the Main Range, Lamington, Springbrook and Mt Barney National Parks were included in the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves Australian World Heritage Listed Area.

The Scenic Rim Mountains and the Mt Warning area in northern NSW are known as the Green Cauldron and were once a volcanic hotspot, which over the years has grown into a lush landscape featuring six World Heritage listed National Park.

TYPICAL LEISURE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:- mountain and rock climbing, bush-walks, water skiing, canoeing, fishing and bird watching, through to visiting wineries and country pubs – or guests can just relax and enjoy the numerous unique views.  Kids love the wallabies and in the evenings they can feed the possums.  Beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes are located near the park.

Our camping areas are nestled at the base of the Scenic Rim foot-hills, and are adjacent to Lake Maroon.   Park facilities include an amenities block with hot showers and a camp kitchen with sinks and dish washing facilities.  Our camping sites are much larger than normal city camping sites.  This enables family groups and groups of friends to be able to easily camp alongside each other and to position tents and campervans in a manner that pleases them best.

MAROON COVE:-   Our park is a family park.  We limit the numbers of guests we admit to our park,  Because our camp sites are near the size of half a tennis court, guests are assured of having plenty of space for family ball games, cricket and other forms of recreational enjoyment.   (Jumping castle in picture brought by guest).

Camp fires are permitted, but fires must only be lit inside the fire rim provided.  All camp sites have a fire rim or fire drum.  Firewood can either be gathered on the property or purchased from roasdside stalls as you drive along Burnett Creek road towards our park.  (If you want to gather firewood, ask Vicki or Brian for the best places to obtain firewood).

This photo demonstrates how friends and families can group together.   This is because our camp sites are very large, and as a consequence when a guest books a camp site there is plenty of room for friends and family to join them on that camp site.

When you are making an on-line booking for an unpowered camp site, you can request the camp site you want; but, when you make your booking, type in the “special requests” field the approximate numbers you expect to have in your party.  We will do our best to meet your request.

However, the allocation of camp sites is ALWAYS PROVISIONAL only.   The final allocation of camp sites will be made just prior the date you are due to arrive.  The allocation of camp sites is dependent upon considerations such as weather, the condition of the grass, and when other guests are due to arrive and depart, etc.  Larger camp sites are obviously allocated to larger parties.  We will tell you  what camp site you have been allocated when you check-in, and we will take you to your camp site.

We generally allocate the more sought after camp sites to guests staying for a longer period.  For example when we are heavily booked, guests staying with us for six or seven nights will usually be allocated a better camp site than will be allocated to guests who are only booked for one night.

Billabong Campsite

Our Hidden Ridge is well suited for groups, family groups, schools and clubs.

This area is secluded from the rest of our holiday park, where guests can enjoy their own activities.  Permitted access is via 4WD or AWD vehicles only.

The Hidden Ridge area combines open spaces with shady campsites.

Our Hidden Ridge area is not close to the lake, but does offer water glimpses, great views and easy access to the mountain trails.

The “Hidden Ridge” area has ready access to the camp kitchen.

Dogs are not permitted in this area.

Donga / Cabin guests have ready access to the camp kitchen area.

The Donga is equipped with two bunk beds, power and air conditioning.

Charges are $25.00 per person per night.

Access is walking or via 4WD or AWD vehicles only.

Discount rates can be arranged for contractors seeking mid-week accommodation.

Tired of traffic, tired of the heat and humidity, tired of the hustle and bustle of city living?  Escape all of that and come and stay in one of our bush camps!  Hidden away amongst gum trees in the beautiful remote Queensland outback - where the only people who might be looking into your tent will be curious kangaroos, and where you can rest and relax with a beer and enjoy the peaceful bush scenes, the laughing of kookaburras and the screech of cockatoos in the gumtrees overhead.

For those who like to get away from it all, we have over 220 acres of bush land.   Our bush camping areas are located at higher altitudes on the mountain above the Maroon Dam and our holiday park.   They enjoy magnificent views, where those who are so inclined can enjoy the peace and solitude of the outback with no other people in the vicinity.   All bush camp sites command superb vistas of the Scenic Rim mountains and the Maroon Dam.   Because of their comparative height, computer and phone reception on these sites is generally pretty good.
